The light is a little harsher in this one, but it is still nice and definitely not over exposed. I do prefer the softer light, though.

Looks as though you have been doing a lot of studio work! Have you been getting a lot of jobs, or what?? Are you working in a studio or have you converted a room in your home? Sorry... I'm nosey!! LOL

OK, This is VERY straight forward and if it wasn't for the harsh light (that's already been discussed above) it would work fine as a head shot. I like a lot of things about it BUT the lighting.... you said SOFT BOX and the light doesn't look like that at all - it looks like a bare flash bulb. Did you bracket your exposures? Should set the camera to do that (but I don't know if the flash will recharge in time for 3 fast shots. Good but not great. Mark 6

You know I haven't really done anything serious in portraits but what I have done shows me the closer you get, the harder the shot, especially with rough skin or other flaws. The reason I was asking about the tan lines wasn't because they are at all distracting, I had just tried to level out some wrinkles on a 40+ beauty's face and it was extremely difficult.

All very valid points, Dave.
You're quite perceptive about the stronger light (she was closer to the soft box and pushed exposure closer to max levels).

I had initially started to clone out her tan lines on the other shot, but it was late, and I moved on.

Thanks for pointing out that the flaws are as obvious as I had suspected they were.

The light is a little harsher on this shot. Is that a result of the darker outfit she is wearing? In the white dress, I think the light was perfect but this has a bit of center light that maybe could be controlled in levels.

Also, with the white dress, how easy would it be to color over her tan lines? I know everybody likes tan lines but I am just wondering.

Best wishes,
Dave
