About Stac pollaidh, Inverpolly Reserve, Scotland.
I rarely include people in my photography but in this case it serves two purposes the first being the sense of scale implied by the juxtaposition of human and landscape, the second reason, the fella obligingly sitting on this rock on the summit ridge of Stac pollaidh is my brother. It is fair to say that he was completely awe struck at the views. This was his first hill climbing, an hour to the top, a fairly gentle break in to a tremendous Scottish pastime. He tells me it won't be his last.

THE lighting conditions! Absolutely super landscape, with the watcher as main object and a magic background, really my eyes losted into the greens and the reflections of the sunlight at the water, beautiful colors generaly EVEN in long distances ands very good quality - clarity too!
best regards

A spectacular view you've captured here, Ian! The colors and dof are perfect, and the inclusion of your brother does indeed add to the shot, especially when you can see his feet dangling over the edge of a....how far down drop?
Dave.

Me to Jay but that contre jour lighting was making lens flare almost inevitable. As it was i tried with and without the mountain tops. I managed one that wasn't too badly affected but the sky was bindingly white and has the effect of causing the eyes to wander to the brightest prt of the frame.

i personally would have liked to see the whole of the hill instead of having the tip cut off. but the light bathing on your brother is nice.
