If you are using PS, you're the pro...and I'm the amateur...:):):)

Yup, I know, it's just easier to use PS as a "catch all" phrase meaning post processing software.

Okay, I'll shut up and realize I am just an amateur in a pro world... I keep getting spanked. LOL!

You do know that I am using Microsoft Picture It as my software, not Photoshop. I did do this a little bit at a time. Thank you for the suggestion, Dave.:)

You're welcome!

Well, Shirley, I kinda like the grain, gives it almost a cold feel, combined with the sky you've got and what looks like the boater wearing a heavy coat.

One thing I try to do (per suggestions made in the forums) is to go very slow when adjusting in post processing. In other words, lets say it takes a lot of contrasting to get everything right. Instead of doing it all at once, work in small steps. Adjust just a tiny bit, flatten, and then do it a gain, just a little bit.

Dave

Thank you, Dave! I'm not sure what caused the grain...maybe my messing with this so much in the computer. I did a lot of layering to even out the exposures and boosted contrast.

Well, this is certainly different for you, Shirley. Very nice light and I do like it in B&W. Was the grain the result of the Sensia film?

Best wishes,
Dave

Thank you so very much, dear Doyle!:) It was pronounced 'Maleen', so don't know if it has the same meaning there...

Nice . . . an almost classic shot and composition and rendered very well in B&W . . . Curious name though . . . Malign is a negative word in every definition and the Latin root is too . . . Trying to discourage tourists?? :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Thank you again, dear JD! I do not know why they named it that...Maybe it is unpredictable, like our Devil's Lake here on the Oregon Coast...storms can arise without warning...people get hurt or killed.

Very beautiful view and mood captured here, Shirley. Lovely BW; however I would perhaps darken the sailor and his boat. Anyway, love your great variety of photographs :)
