Doyle: strange, that email came through almost straight away, but I'm still waiting for all the others. You did say mm, and I did say px. So you can count that as a "pick"!

Did I say 1 or 2 px? I meant mm . . . 1mm or 2mm - preferably 2mm. Wow. You came close to a perfect shot. And no - - I could not find something else to pick at . . . errrr.....critique. Really. :)

Well, thank you, Doyle! Surely you could have found more than that. And of course I have to respond - there is actually a 1 pixel black border, just to make sure the image is held in. I tend to do this with all images I upload to UF, unless I am specifically doing a frame of some sort.

Oh! John this shot just ROCKS! Perfect! Of course, it wouldn't be complete if I didn't give a good critique. So even the nit-pick . . . errrrr . . . critical analysis would be expected from me. Sooooo . . . . uhhhhh . . . well I think . . . . Errrrrrr . . . . Let's see here . . . Gdansk . . . . Oh! WAIT! I got it! This shot would be improved with a 1 or 2mm black frame!
(Best I could do my friend . . . and this deserves more than ONE award)! 7/7
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~

Thanks Sally. I thought one of the big things about the D70 was that it could handle high ISO settings for low light shots, and this certainly seems to support that.
I can understand your (lack of) enthusiasm - until recently I was having a pretty unmotivated period myself. But I don't see infrared appearing on my list of "must dos" just yet - getting hold of a 105mm micro is much higher on my list so that I can get back to my favourite subjects. Oh, and buying a truck to carry the Nikon and all its add-on bits around in...
Hope your ankle untwists itself soon - though maybe it gives you a chance to experiment more with drops and macros and, of course, your beautiful cat!

Hey AJ, the lines of this photo are artistically capturing converging to a point on the right side of the photo. The lighting and the resultant color tones are superb in here too, ofcourse a well deserved BIP award my friend, Regards, Khaled. By the way, sure 7/7

Greetings AJ! This looks beautifully sharp and noise free - especially so for a low-light shot. I really like the perspective you took it from. I'm laid up with a twisted ankle at the mo - hence my recent postings. I've really been struggling with time and (a lack of) enthusiasm for photography - I'd love to be able to wave a magic wand and suddenly get back my motivation. So now that you've got a D70 - are you going to have a go with infrared :)

Awesome lighting and atmosphere to this photo. The angle of the shot enhances the repeating lines of the bridge perfectly. Wonderfully done and congrats on the BIP.

Congratulations on the award, it is well deserved. This is a very strong compostion using good use of leading lines. The colors are very interesting. Small apertures will do the trick for these types of compositions. And I also like bridges, I have lot of shots of the Golden Gate bridge. If you came from a different brand, you'll really have a steep curve with Nikon. But once you get it, the possibilities are endless! Great job!

He he, I don't see why you can't take a shot just like this, Irena. I only took about 200 shots over several visits to get this one! And last time I did start to feel a little vulnerable - there's not much in the way of security on this bridge.

PS I'm signing off as AJ again cos there's too many other people using my full name...
