Surf can be so troublesome my sweet Shirley but it is what it is. I think this is a lovely capture as the sea crashes against the rocks. There are some beautiful tones to be seen in the turbulence.....Well done to you sweetie....All the best......Ray;)

Thrilling look over the edge, Shirley! The seagull is a nice touch and you did not have to clone it! I hope you enjoy your digital acquisition! As you have found out, blown highlights are always a concern in scenes as this, although the D80, it is like the D200, should have a good dynamic range. There is no solution but to review your photo and look at the histogram or the blinking highlights. There is a little more latitude in shooting raw (NEF) - so not everything that blinks is lost!

WOW, This is beautiful, and the gull really added to the picture, excellent job.
Well I have a Nikon but it is a point and shot 7900, I like it to just keep with me. Don't get me wrong I love my Canons they are all I have own, but I would love to try a Nikon SLR , but after thinking about it and when I found out that the lens I had would fit the Canon Digital Rebel, well that made up my mind.
