Yes indeed, it is the most remarkable fact, how quickly and openeyed this exchange takes place here. Living arts is better than admiring arts!
About my age, hmmm, considering the fact that Greece lives with a delay of about 50 years relative to the rest of the world, I must be 92! Where is my walking stick? ;-)
An EV is the abbreviation of Exposure Value. Some prefer the term "Light Value". It is a scale of light conditions, corresponding to the different "strengths" of available light. The strength of avaliable light is measured by some sensor in your camera and translated to a pair of shutter speed and apperture according to your lens. So, EV corresponds to many different combinations of shutter speed, apperture, and also film sensitivity.
Let's take for example an EV of 11 which is the exposure value on sunsets or objects in shade. With an EV of 11 my Canon T90 (adjusted at program Wide-3) would select an apperture of 1/11 and a speed of 1/15 automatically. But if I don't like those settings, I could correct them. One way to correct them is to "tell" the camera that it the EV is not 11 but, say, 10.6 or 11.3, or anything.

An excellent webpage, very understandable and also waking one's appetite to override the mercyless automatic settings of nowadays cameras. Electronics is very comfortable but photography is still a work of heart. That's why I am only glad being able to switch off all automatic settings on the T90.

Well maybe people can get inspired and hang up beer, cigarettes, haspipes, candy and the likes in such trees...and then I would come out there in the middle of the night taking all the candy down again-yummyyyyyy;-))

That´s what´s great about exchanging photos like this. All of a sudden someone gets inspired and one two three there are pacifierpalmtrees and pacifiercactus etc!:-)
You didn´t have a pacifier as a child? I´d better check your age again!;-))Anna Sophie spit this artificial stuff out bwwaaaadrr not for her!

Funny, how much things of everyday life are unknown to anybody not living in some particular country. Thank you for showing us, Annemette. BTW, does anybody know of any book, that describes these little habits in different lands? Such things could be stuff for an international festival of life!
A bit over exposed in the lower part, but such luminance differences are hard to handle. I think that some EV down would have helped.
But on the other hand, the lower part had to be also captured only because they hanged the pacifiers so low! They should climb and hang them higher so that they are all in front of a green background, for helping the poor photographer! Focusing, choosing perspective, metering light, correcting - we can't do everything alone! ;-)
I also didn't have such a pacifier! Simply because at the times there were no pacifiers at all in Greece! :-)

This is a very un-usual vison alright !!! Great incentive & idea for kids to want to hang up their pacifiers !! Ha!! I love it...I have never seen this before ...love sharing good ideas like this !!!
