Hi Dave . . . I'm not at home with my database yet but (as I recall) this was a less complex issue than I set out to do. I originally had shot three lower and three upper shots but as I recall needed only a very small portion of the upper right side tower . . . the remaining uppers were discarded . . . but it may have been two under and two over . . . :( . . . (Trying to recall how to spell Alzheimers) - Either way . . . I ended up with ONE top, no more . . . but there were several bridge panos . . . and at least one other was posted so it may just be the early onset of senility and not Alzheimers at all.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Is this really a pano? You stitched this? from how many photos?

Thanks Robert. Unfortunately, channels are only available in the full version of photoshop and that's something I don't have. I have PS Elements 4.

You're so right Robert and I'll be getting (since you mention it) the Hoya R72 IR filter . . . (it's on my TO DO list)! Thanks!

Lovely image Doyle,excellent composed image
with very good tones.I have tried IR plugin before but far easier for me to shoot IR with R72.Your D50 is a fantastic IR camera using the R72 filter.Hope to see some R72 images soon.Taking a break from here hence the slow responce in saying thanks for your comment.
Take care

Hehehehee . . . stupid foreground concrete. I agreed with the IR until I looked into it more and compared B&W images with various IR shots (I like the Hoya 78 IR) . . . it does make improvement in SOME circumstances. The same holds true for the fisheye . . . check out http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=882304 for a MASTER use of the fiseye . . . though I have seen others. They simply would not be the same otherwise. Of course the, by now cliche, ubiquitous shot of the Brooklyn Bridge is another case in point. The only problem is these Lens and filter venues are not good for most photographic needs and may be a tad bit overdone just to play with the effect (As I've done here). Good comment!

I really have a lot to learn about PS. I had no idea you can add the effect of IR with PS.

Great point of view. Well seen and taken.

There's a couple of things I'm still trying to get my head around and learn to appreciate: one is fisheye lenses and the other is (you guessed it!) IR. So I whacked this up in full pano mode and was knocked out by the contrast of the bridge against the background. OK, I'm not yet fully convinced by the concept but I'm getting there. I did feel that the frame on this one got lost at the top of the image as it merged into the sky. Perfect pano subject though (and no foreground concrete!)

Heheheheee . . . like that term, Mary, Atmospheric. With the black sky and 'Lunar' feel it's almost Non-atmospheric literally but certainly atmospheric figuratively!! :)

Thanks Kelly . . . my intention was to define the detail in the bridge better . . . but it did make for a surreal composition! :)

What a surreal looking photo. The water looks like compact dirt, making one wonder why there is a bridge there. A fun picture to see.
