About What struck me was the metalic appearance of this little longhorn beetle (about 12-15mm body length). It is beautiful and looks quite innocent until you come in close and see those powerful jaws.

Taken with the 105mm Micro Nikkor plus the Panagor macro converter. Cropped to the square format. Brightness and contrast adjusted in PS.

OMG... this is like something out of a sci fi move!!!!!! (or horror even!!!)

You know I have never really been pulled into the macro world of photography until I found you on here... You never sees to amaze me with these shots! This should definately be another award winner Joggie & I would never have thought of finding such beauty in something so small & creepy!!!!

This looks more like a small 'robotic' insect Hmmm... maybe it is!!!! Could be the spys latest accessory!!! (bless.. now I know I watch too much sci fi.. lol)

Hope this day finds you well & bright x :)

Boy, I don't see innocent when I look at those creepy crawlers - I just know every bug is out to eat us;) I love the rolled leaf that really adds dimension and a sense of being in his habitat. Fantastic metallic colors!

This looks like a creature you are more likely to find on the shelves at a department store, or on the big screen. It is very beautiful, expertly captured and contrasts nicely with its succulent environs. CC
