Tim, the dynamic range adjusting function on the D80 makes me wish I had waited and NOT bought the D200. I find the dynamic range far too limited! I just hope they upgrade the firmware to include that function, though it seems unlikely. The D80 handles wide dynamic range really well. It looks to me as if it is somehow getting at least one stop, and maybe getting on for two, wider than normal.

What a fabulous image my dear friend and your subject looking a million miles off from being a typical female Japanese. Gorgeous dyed hair (or wig) amazing rosy red cheeks and the fringe held down in place with a bright red grip. I'm with you, I could never have resisted taking a shot of her myself. She has very pretty features that she decided to make do without but I'm sure she was the envy of many of her friends....OK maybe just the one friend:) :) My very best wishes to you as always Roger.......Ray:)

Again I have to say a very engrossing series. What, don't they sleep ever over there? what is so important that sleep is forgone?
Hey how's it going with the D200? I was looking at it myself just the other day... but then I am waiting for the D80 to come out over here to compare...

Not very glamorous looking to us, but I'm sure she got the effect SHE wanted... She was standing up but swaying rather wildly from time to time. [grin] Neat trick!

Thank you, Claude. How I wish that my portraits could show the same trust and respect as your models always seem to show you--I am sure it is because you show kindness and respect to them! I looked up "craquant" and was surprised... and flattered.
