Lovely image Aivar . . . the ripples really accent this wonderful shot. Colors and exposure are spot-on! Don't think the polarizer was need here . . . and thank goodness for digital. I have taken hundreds of shots learning techniques - like panning at the speedway . . . with a handful of images to show for it. This one is great!
Thanks for analyzing. I have such and thought about it, but was too dark for this and from moving boat and moving bird - no real possibilities. I took about 20 shots and got only 4 sharp ones without polarizer.
A polarizer might help on the highlight. But there's enough there to be recovered, in software, without it. A good composition, clean lines, simple objects, and the bird is interesting. The water is sharp to the front but the background is appropriately blurred. I think it's a good photo.
