About Last full moon midnight frost found some discarded crabs legs on a seat and not a birds turd in sight No ideas what was feeding there that night. This the best capture before the batteries faded. I wish the shadow entered the frame in a more significant fashion. The stars are icicles of frost. I am making a pun on crab nebulae. It is a truly bad photo one needs to explain at length so I'll stop. :)

Ahh yes a subject. :) Yesterdays thought was exactly that. -to stick something in the water below the vines I was photographing.
So right. Framing is my growth zone I think. I think if I'd stayed at this locale here and tried to find a good point of view I could possibly have come up with something, but may learn more from an exercise like arranging things in front of the camera. Something like what you did with your toys on the beach. Till the penny drops in that area then the ability to communicate is limited.
Thanks for your always useful thought.

I think imagination plays a part of every image, my concern is when you leave too much to the imagination, that the interpretation may outweigh the creative impulses of the photographer and negate the artistic vision (if this is possible).

I think what you are trying to capture here is an emotion, what you felt at the time of capture... in many ways it kinda reminds me of what Jackson Pollack did with paint... this patterned nebulous mass that leaves the viewer somewhat dumbfounded initially, and then forces us to make it whatever we want.

Not surprisingly, much of your recent work could be slagged off as completely devoid of meaning, while at the same time confronting our basest instincts with regard to form or color (or lack thereof), allowing viewers the freedom to choose between meanings and emotions, or to say: "This is crap".

I want to say "just take a picture with a subject already", but then I would have missed the point, wouldn't I?

Thanks for making me think about it, I am in your debt.

:)

Gidday Fabio!
No I can't remember hearing the name but she(?) sounds terrific! I am haunted by the vague memory of a photographer from a book I read but cannot quite recall who made diaramas with cotton wool clouds etc photographed them digitally then and then made analogue contact prints. I think that was the process.
Anyway the fakery really appealed! It was an american woman I THINK. I also vaguely recall asking someone about it in the past... maybe you... :)
I've long wanted to follow her up but can't find my original source.
This process with the dead flies superceeds it no end! Will pursue! Thanks!
