About This image was shot through a storefront of a glass art shop in Ballard on 12 August 2006.

The red is a bowl and the green is the lip of a dark vase. My angle to the shop window was pretty oblique (to the glass) so I was looking as close to strait down on the glass as the window would allow, and the lights were from above.

This image has been shrunk and resized and I have slightly altered the brightness (+15) and the contrast (+20). I have also added a thin border. No other PS work was done.

I look forward to your questions and comments.

Thanks, man. That's good to know. I'll be extra careful (one day).

A word of warning,James. When I did a series on sunflowers-they're in my usefilm portfolio-the use of zoom seemed to suck in a lot of dust and I had to have my sensor cleaned shortly afterwards. So,in dusty conditions, beware!!

Tony - I wouldn't mind adding some zoom work to my luxagraphic toolkit. Problem is this camera I have won't do it (motorized zoom on a fixed lens).

I could with my film camera, but expenses have encouraged me to concentrate on digital shooting.

I'm trying to get something together so I can get a dSLR. Then I'll be able to begin experimenting with that additional angle.

Thanks for taking a look.

A sense of movement is well conveyed here.I especially like the shape of the green vase.Do you ever incorporate a touch of zooming in this kind of photography?
Best Wishes, Tony

Mary - Thanks. The motion is key to much of my luxagraphic work. This shot is part of a sort of retelling of Murder on the Orient Express (Murder on the Ornamental Express?). As to whether Vase Green did it or Red Bowl, well...

I really like the gentle flow of this. There is a wonderful sense of motion that makes this very appealing. Lovely.

Mary - Thanks. No reflections to speak of in this one. Camera motion. My angle to the shop window was pretty oblique (to the glass) so I was looking as close to strait down on the glass as the window would allow, and the lights were from above. Sorry if that wasn't more clear.
