About The serendipitous discovery of an escaped exposed roll of 120 film lurking at the bottom of my camera bag. I had always suspected that my most colourful selection from a trip to Cove Bay in Hopeman, Moray, had not as yet seen the light of the developers tray. Pentax 67II, 45mm lens, 0.6ND and 0.3ND grads stepped to match a horizon and reflected light on the water, F22 at 4 seconds. Velvia. Please visit my website at www.transientlight.co.uk to see others in the series. Please do check out the others in the series at Cove Bay, Hopeman at www.transientlight.co.uk

Hi Michael just for the record no vertical gradient used although I have to admit the effect is slightly strange. The grey stripe as I prefer to call it comes from the reflection of the light piece of sky in the moving surf. The filters used were a 0.6ND hard grad down to the sky sea horizon and then to get detail in the stones and deepen the sky still further the 0.3ND hard grad wasused on a diagonal down to the slanting line of the foreshore pebbles, hope that makes sense. I do however see how it could look like a grad filter error, though there would be no reason to use one off to the side in a vertical plane.

What great details! Beautiful vivid colors! I love that dramatic colorful sky and the slower shutter speed blurring the surf. I do see the vertical gradient filter on the right side in the water which is a little distracting for me. Still, an outstanding image to be proud of.

Great work!

Excellent work Ian as usual.... also the fact that you "discovered" these exposures on an unknown roll of film only adds to it's enjoyment... imagine if you'd never had it?!?!

Cheers,
Chris
