About A lone fireman struggles to get his firehose in action to fight a wildfire after lightning struck a tree and ignited this local hillside. I loved the textures the sepia filter created from the smoke, fire, and foliage.

Wow... yeah the textures to this is so cool! I love what the sepia filter does to this! It's quite an intense shot and I love it, you've done a good job with this! :)

Carlen, you are making me give up all the magic but yes here is the original print before the sepia filter, though I had already cropped it. As you can see it has no where near the same intensity. Proof again that a picture is not taken, it is made.

When I first saw this I said wow. Now I read what you wrote below and well, you had me fooled. This could very well be in the middle of the wilderness of BC. I love the sepia tone, I think it makes the photo very unique. Well done Chris!

p.s. would you mind uploading the original? I'm curious to see what it looks like.

Yes... having the guy standing on a trash can or a park bench would have really detracted from the overall drama...

Ivan, its good to have a sense of humour but really when have you ever known a fireman to run away from a fire :) This one is just a little aggravated because he has no water for his hose! My secret to you is I cropped his feet out as he is standing on a sidewalk and that urban element detracted from the picture :) This scene was actually in a city park, not the wilderness! All the best and thank you for your comments.

I like the sepia filter you used.. it gives the image a certain dreamy quality..
only one flaw... and I know it is difficult specially as probably you were too close for comfort... you cut the feet of the fireman, how do you expect him to ran away if fire gets out of control?
:-)

Fabio, I agree completely with your sentiment. The original picture did not inspire me at all, but the moment I muted all of the flames with the sepia process all these wonderful tones and textures jumped out at me. I am delighted you felt the same. The more I look at this piece the more I feel it is one of my better.

Nicce to see an image of a forest fire that goes away from the ever present red-orange hue. Excelent work.
