Dear Chris, I just fell off my chair laughing at the thought of me climbing a mountain!!! I will take you up on your info offer. Won't be this year though, maybe mid 2008. So you and Carlen have plenty of time to show me more of your magnificent country. Bedtime, bye. (must find my bruise cream) Cathy

I am with Carlen, you should come visit Canada! What better way to escape your winter than come enjoy our summer :) If and when you go to plan a trip let me know as I would love to help you make the most of your trip, there is a lot to see and never enough time so I would be happy to help steer you in the right directions. You are not looking to climb a mountain are you? :)

Hey Cathy your comments were making me smile. :) When I go camping with my dad even with a campsite that has lots of shade the sun is often quite warm, as Chris said normal temperatures can be in the high 20's-early 30's. So sleeping late in a tent is vertually impossible. I love sleeping in but not really when I go camping. Not to mention by 7 am my bladder is telling me to haul my butt to the washroom! lol And my dad's snoring could keep the whole campground awake... lol
But you should come to Canada. It's beautiful.

I like the colors and the composition but the view of part of the house is distracting to me.

So you're not only crazy, but a crazy camper! Seriously, I can comprehend being up at that time after sleeping outside. In fact if we spent more time close to nature our rhythms of life would be far more natural. I might try this with my teenagers who feel daylight is to be avoided.(or is that housework???) Can't wait to see more.... My husband and I are thinking about travel and Canada is top of both our lists. I think our youngest is independant now at 19. Bring it on. Cathy

Summer hours from the land of the midnight sun. In truth I was dozing off at the campfire the night before around 11:00PM so really getting up at six was pratically sleeping in :) So I made my cofee and took it with me in the kayak.....and risked my camera so I could take pictures! Not much risk of capsizing on the lake but I did decide I need a more waterproof case.....just in case.....I didn't like the image of me thrashing around in the water trying to keep the camera above the water more than my head! I embark on a three week holiday this Saturday around the province......stay tuned, you haven't seen nothing yet!

You seem to have a very active life. Who, in their right mind, is awake, let alone vertical, at 7.00am on a SUNDAY morning? Although I must admit the sound of loons is very appealing...no,no 7.00am? Crazy!!! Cathy
Oh, back to this tranquil photograph...this country of yours is getting more visitable with every image. Love the colour of the water and the nose of the kayak. Cathy

I agree with the kayak inclusion, it gives scale and perspective to the shot. A beautiful job! -john

Chris, I felt the same of the kayak at first but liked the way it added a splash of colour against the rich blue water, and gave the viewer a perspective by which to understand the shot. Loved your Zinkwazi btw, I enjoy the alternative perpectives and that one is excellent!

Mani, about 800km north of Vancouver near Prince George....it was peaceful, the lake water about 70f degrees and the air temperature well into the 30c's later that day.

Nice image Chris. The air looks clean and pure! At first I wasnt sure about the front end of the kayak, but after some thought, seems to add to the sense of isolation. "the loonatic is in my head".....with apologies...for those old enough to recognise those lyrics...
