:) Oh man Gayle! That hits home big time!
Beautiful and so wonderfully Captured! I drink way to much coffee. Sometimes lately I wonder what I'm doing to myself. Drinking a pot right now at nearly 2am in the morning! (CRAZY)!
"Think Ill have another cigg with that"
What a beautiful silhouette and framed fantasticlly in the shadows! Wonderful and works perfectly for me!

Thanks for sharing your Monday morning......:)

Oh I'm so glad to opening this one! like you on thumbnail, it's speaking to me: Click MEEE!
and I'm also agree with Doyle, maybe it's an EMPTY coffee cup!
Very nice job you did with this sensual metering!! and also the composition in this one is just beautiful..made and gave me very strange feeling ...and act me to firing new cigarette!!!
Very well seen and really nicely taken!
bravo my friend!

You are absolutely right - rules become rules for a good reason. Couldn't agree more. But I do like to try "different" things, to break the rules sometimes - it's the stubborn child in me, I guess. Sometimes it pays off, other times it doesn't. :)

I understand what you're saying about the diagonal, and agree! I did a lot of shots with this setup, and entered one in a challenge on another site. It won! It did have the diagonals that you like. So, when I decided to post this one, I wanted something different, and the thumbnail just kept speaking to me: "use ME, use ME!!!" Well, I'm not one to turn down a thumbnail when it's speaking to me...and there you have my long-winded story about why I posted this instead of the one with diagonals.

Excellent feedback. Thanks, Doyle! I have so much to learn - don't ever hesitate to teach me something! :)

"A Necessary Evil"?? Huh? What could it be? Ahhhh . . . an EMPTY coffee cup . . . well seen and well shot . . . good tonal range and the composition is not bad either. While the comment about rules in your bio is there . . . never-the-less, I should point out that the so-called "rules" are guidelines more than rules but remain in place for a reason . . . a general guide to amateurs like myself. That being said . . . I think the composition of this shot would have more impact if the composition was using light to make the shot more dynamic and less static, i.e., to have the light composed into a diagonal across the setting. Other than that, I think the shot is very well done.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Thank you very much, Ozcan. I was beginning to get worried, since no one had commented yet. I feel better now. :)
