Doyle, thank you and I think I agree with you on the frame; I will try with something different.

Cool shot Chris but IMO the frame is distracting the viewer from the natural beauty of your shot!

Just another type of frame I am playing with, I liked the way it blended with the snow. Its funny though as this picture lost some of its colour and feel when I resized it. I look at the original and this and there is a remarkable difference.......shows I have much to learn yet! Yes it is summer here! It has been hot and dry though like you that does increase the chances of forest fires. Keep in mind the province I live in is 95 million hectares with only 3 million inhabitants, we have every type of terrain from desert to rainforest and moutain alpine to coastal islands, not all of it gets the heavy snowfalls but where I live in the northern region the mountains certainly do. Summer is beautiful here but alas too short. Winter takes upto six months and hence Sping, Summer and Fall are left to share the other half :) We might just benefit from a little global warming! Just remmeber our average winter temperature is -12c and a cold snap can sent it south of -40c at times! I visted Austrailia once as a child. Sidney only unfortuneatly, as it was just a short holiday while we were living in central Java for a year (my father was a forest engineer and we moved often). I would love to return and explore the country as I remember it was beautiful....of course with my camera!

Beautiful image. What have you done to the sides, its very interesting. 10' snow wells, wow. Climate change has put an end to our snowfalls in this part of the world. We may get the odd couple of inches every couple of years, but nothing like the falls in my childhood. I've never really seen snow you could sink in. Cathy May is heading into winter here isn't it getting warm where you are?
