The sand colours of the deserts depends from place to place in the same area, what you see here is results of light evening and some correction of colour temperature within the camera program.
I attached an image taken in the middle of the desert at around 10 o’clock night time, with Nikon D100,f/4 ,3osec. with certain figures of colour temperature.
