About Cove Bay, Hopeman, Moray Scotland.

The setting sun dances off the turbulent sweep of the sea rolling over fist sized pebbles at Cove Bay, Hopeman. I used a 0.6ND grad to take down the brightness of the sky and allowed myself the last fleeting moments of direct sunlight in an effort to prevent flare ruining the shot. It seems to have worked and I was pleasd with the result. Please do check out my website at www.transientlight.co.uk and www.timecatcher.com

The pebbles really make this shot. It was a good choice to include so many of them, plus to take advantage of the last rays of light.

Hi Cathy it doesn't look turbulent does it thats the long exposure for you. The draw on this section is about 2m from top of the ide mark to the back of the receding wave. Not much I grant you but the bank of stones is fairly steep.

Beautiful colors, both in the sky and reflecting off the smooth water - perfectly achieved with the exposure. Love the stunning clarity of the round rocks and especially the light, glistening off of them. Wonderful capture.

This is so calm and peaceful it is hard to imagine the turbulent sea you speak of. I love the sheen on the rocks and the trough of yellow light leading to the setting sun. Beautiful. Cathy
