About This is one of Laura's first photo shoots, which we did at an abandoned factory. Self directed and quite creative, I was doing all I could to keep up with her numerous poses.

Paul, of this series of photos with Laura that you have posted I like this one best.

While on each of the photos you pretty much nail it technically. You ARE a photographer and you definitely know what you are doing. You know how to compose the shot, expose it properly, get a flattering angle.... etc. etc.

The only thing that I, personally, am not crazy about are the "poses". It is just un-natural looking to me. Not really your fault, and maybe it's just me... a matter of taste. Some people DO prefer the more posed stuff.

I think if you compare these shots witht he ones you did of Casey, the difference is that even though Casy was posing (sort of) she looked a lot more natural. For me it is the shots that look more natural that come across the best. I also think that Casey had a lot more going on in her eyes and expression.

Here, and I hope this helps give a sense of what my other critique was getting at, you have brought to us something about life through your image. We are forced to look at something here and through it we may discover. This image itself does not have that staged feel of the other. And when I ask that question "what's she doing?" I find many possible answers.

Paul this one is really really good... the location is excellent and cleverly used as a background... industrial chic with mesmerizing eyes... think the cascade of hair is more apparent and well included in this pic... well done...
