Susie, esta foto me ha gustado mucho, tanto que la copié en mi PC para seguir viéndola, me he tomado el atrevimiento de modificar tu imagen cambiándola para que se vea mejor, por favor, no lo tomes a mal, sólo es como yo veo esta fotografía, me parece que así tiene mejor composición.

Congrats, Susie (somewhat belated!) You made some good choices in creating this portrait. The tight crop, the strong lighting ratio and the tilt of the face are responsible for a dramatic and classic look. Good experimenting and excellent results!

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you...I was borrowing a friend's lens and I didn't note about the soft/standard part. It was white if that helps!  )
I'm not much of a techie when it comes to equipment, I just know what works for me when I see it. I decided against that lens and am now trying out his 15-30 mm lens. It's great to have generous friends!

First of all... a belated Congratulations! 25 years together is becoming more and more the exception to the rule. A wonderful thing!
I really like those tones in this portrait. The lighting is very nice. Even the reflection in the glasses is interesting and adds to the image rather than being distracting like some that you see. Very nice job, I'll bet he likes the image.

This is an awsome portrait. I love the dark shadows and the lighting on the left side of his face. The color tones are stunnning. The reflections in the glasses are even nice and as it does not distract from the picture at all. A beautiful candid shot.

Well, about the shot. Its perfect. The Expression is priceless and the tonality is spot on!

This is so fabulous my dear Susie. The lighting is superb, the focus, the details, the pose all are breathtaking sweetie. The mono tones are stunning and this is a sure candidate as a tribute composition in the new project. I particularly love the catchlight in his right eye which is so easily overlooked if thorough preparation is not observed it also provides a balance to the portrait.....One to be justly proud of sweetie. SUPERB PERFECTION.
Which 135mm lens did you use Susie? was it a Canon soft or standard???
