Just revisited your portfolio. I love this kind of shot, and this is great. But I reckon it's even stronger if the top quarter or even the top third is cropped off (i.e. make it a square). It means you don't have that big highlight leading the eye up and out of the image. Try it and see what you think. I took a lot of shots like this when I was around Cape Trib a year or so ago. Fabulous place.

You have done a great job with the lighting and shadow to create a great image. Interesting patterns are enhanced by the shadow and light. Excellent job.

Nice capture Cathy. Works well in B&W. Love the various patterns the sea provides. Always different and beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Yes Phillip, I have run out of digital images. Most of my work has been analogue portraits. I have also run out of courage, the portfolios on UF have blown me away. I have been checking out the projects and have decided to renew my passion, to go out there with my new camera and try to produce images that are worthy of this site. Hopefully it won't be too long. Thankyou for your concern. Cathy

This is a beautiful image and a great find with the pattern. DOF is excellent. I also like the framing effect.

Thank you for commenting on my image. To answer your question, I got the idea for the Christmas shot in a round about way. I saw a project in a magazine that used seltzer water and lemon slices. My friends and I tried that and then started putting other objects in the seltzer water and this looked the best.
