About This dainty little curly feathering plant (like I know my plants or something) towers above a desert bush and acts as a mini-trap filled with cobwebs that aren't visible to the naked eye (at least mine).

Excellent composition, yea, you use just a feather BUT the curve and the tight frame makes a fantastic artistique presentation, cool shot Dave!

I enjoy the challenge of macro photography and have always been a "bush-baby". Getting dirty, laying down in sand or mud has never been a problem for me. (And as you know, I have models who also don't mind "sinking" in swamps... and I like cars that do too!!! :))

Truly, Dave, your talent astounds me. It is an honour to be on such friendly terms with you.

Hugs~
Aniko :)

Glad you liked this, it is one of my favorite macros. Taken just after I bought a new macro lens and one of the rarest times when I actually laid down in the sand, tripod flattened out to the ground and took a macro shot. Oh, and it was one of those rare days when the wind wasn't blowing, which helped immensely.

Best wishes,
Dave

Good one Dave! Graceful looking and you are going to town!! I've missed a few, and they look interesting in the thumbnails.

Perfect against the gray

Good job on this,
Lori :)

Un macro más que bello, esa curva que describe le da dinamismo y encanto, una sutil guía para la vista que sigue dócilmete hacia el extremo, y sí allí se ven las trampas!!!
Felicitaciones!!!

It looks like a real feather. I haven't seen one of these in the desert.Nice isolation. Don.

There certainly is some interesting plant life, isn't there, Dave? I've never heard of one like this! Nice job!

Sorry, Aliihsan, I'll need to change my profile. Yes, this is shot with the 30D, which I acquired about a month ago. I still have my 300D which is my back-up camera.

I love the 30D so far and am very glad that I received some good advice here on Usefilm to hold off until it was released. I was set to buy a 10D or 20D.

I loved my 300D too and had thought I'd eventually pick up the new Rebel XT when it came out. I was sorely disappointed in its size, though.

Best wishes,
Dave

beautiful simplistic image! Framed perfectly. Slightly smaller f stop to bring all the image in focus would have given this a cleaner look, but I think it's wonderful how it is.

Your about made me laugh, I am the same way about plant names! It does look like a feather, nice composition and colours.
