About The artist that put this up took about 2 weeks, it was part of a green space work that they had set up in what looked like an unused parking lot.
He was working well into the late evening. He said that it was based on Phoenician statues. The two others that were with him were going to a party, possibly galleria party but can't remember for sure later that night.
Thanks for looking.

An impressive abstract, Mark. I'm assuming the white lines and black rectangle are your additions. Even if not, it's wonderful to look at.

Now I get it - bril brill brill! Thanks Mark I was dying to know! Just wonderful to get thinking such things and find images for them. I thought that black box was up to something! And the size of the building- great idea- you're right- looks like he might whack it! And now I see more to the title - great succinct summary of the point. By the way, didn't get your message in email- only under picture- maybe this computer. Anyhow, thanks Mark.

The sun bearing down upon the worker gave me a sense of hard work and the idea of working in a hot sun. Tried to get the angle so that he would be taller than his ultimate creation, the modern building.

The building has a ominous feel though to me. A sense of what will be lost and gained thru his work. To me when I look at it I wonder if he might take a swing at the building.

I called it nail because as soon as we invented that one instrument it helped end an era and become a start of a new one.
The monolith because what we are seeing is kind of an impossibility of time. It was a way of squeezing time from primal to modern. A time machine of sorts, or the rational for these two existing.

I posted worker just to prove i could leave well enough a alone :-)

Thanks Mary

Mark this is just fascinating- been looking at this and "2006" and "open range" for ages thinking. Which is "brill"! It is just so striking and thought provoking. The edges, light angles. And that black box again! Last time related to solid walls against people. Or in the other image with beams through it, associated more with that tree of life. Now you have some beams but not through the black box or modern building. So there is more I ain't got? Image sticks though I can tell you!
