It's black and white because our matches in Romania are all made of wood and their "head" is nor red but alsow brown. This is why. Brown on white paper (the background that I used for this pic.) was a little-bit cheesy I saw and I really didn't like it.
I didn't reverse the burned match because I wanned the message to be not so obvious but to me a little more subtile.
Great idea, like the message this photo stands out, and it's nicely captured too. I'm just a bit curious about two things: Why did you convert this to black and white? I think the burned head of the match would stand out more dominantly against the (presumably) red unused matches, emphasising the message just a bit more.
A second thought that crossed my mind is if you'd reversed the burned match, letting the head stick outwards from the circle, that would also make the message / intentions a bit stronger.
Nevertheless a ver nice shot, I like this concept. A lot!
