Thank you for the informative reply Brian, one thing I know is that the 18-55 mm kit lens is no good :) I could not have the chance to try another lens yet, but what I understand from your reply that even with a better lens, it's better to keep contrast and sharpness at levels higher than 0. Thanks again.

i hate to say burak but that 18-55mm kit lense your using is the problem, until i change i had suffered very similar soft shots and lack of sharpness. the above photo was taken in b/w by mistake i took about 25 shots in b/w before i realized!. yes i always leave those contrast and saturation at those settings when in manual mode!.

Hello you , you remember i said i watched war of the worlds last night.well for some reason it looked somewhat alike . then again everything i took today at 10mm sky looked very dominating .
still concerned about the darkness,so ill give it a few more days.

Hey - what an apocalyptic mood .... the clouds are as alive, fast moving and changing and who knows what beyond ;-) .... I understand that the person close to the lake are running! .....and, great contrast !!!

Good composition. Text added underneath the pic makes this picture stronger, altough it has nearly enough strenght of her selve. Like this one!

very good composition, though I think it would look nicer if the human in the photo was not so close to the edge. By the way, may I ask if the picture was originally b&w or converted to b&w, because I really wonder how it looked (or would look) like in color. And finally, if I may, do you always keep the Contrast and Saturation at +2 level in your camera, or does it just depend on the scene or choice of b&w or color? I just can't get sharp and good quality color photos with my 350D unless I adjust the contrast and saturation higher than neutral. Thanks and cheers.

Excellent landscape, a bit of human presence, great mood... your usual quality work.
