About My daughter, she really enjoys it - really!!!

Ok, Canon F1n,
fuji 100 !
I don't remember all the settings. I had a dark background behind a see-through white fabric. In between the fabrics there was a slave strobe for backlight with a red filter/cover over it. I'll post the original. Worked nice in the conversion to B&W then sepia/tone.
Conversions & lightness/contrast changes with Picasa2. Resize, sharpening, remove dust with Gimp. I sharpened this a lot, some may not like that but I thought it looked um, different/better.

This is a scan of a small 4x6 35mm print. It's an old scanner.

Stobes/flash; camera mounted Metz CT-1, reversed to bounce off white ceiling. It looks like I used just one Morris strobe on the right side, umbrella bounced, probably at 1/2 power but that's just a guess. Also slaved from camera flash. Used a flash/strobe light meter. Also window light on the left (her right), but it's probably more likely reflected light from white curtains and a white wall about 2-3 feet away.

I'll take this to the camera shop and get a decent print from the neg. That way they know what I want!

Beautifull portrait ! I had a feeling it was an 'old school' photo, and i was right :) The treatment is great too, congratulations.

Hi Kes :)
This does have a very vintage feel...the grain and the somber expression are perfect to give this an aged feel. She is too cute!

Dude, I want some kid(s)! I'm going to take their picture every single day in the same position then turn it into a movie! I really like this picture, it looks almost like a painting.

Hi Kes,
This has a really nice antiqued look to it in this sepia tone. At first glance, this image could pass for being taken in the 1890's. I was going to mention the slightly dark circles and now I see Don has shown you how you can reduce them if you chose to.
I see you have scanned the small print instead of the negative. If your scanner has negative scanning capability, you might try that and compare the results. I have had quite a lot of success scanning some of my B&W negatives.

Such a sad expression on a beautiful child. The tones and contrast are excellent.

Don, you're a magician! How did you do that?

I might try that on that dark area above her
upper lip. Your version is much improved -
for the family album.
Thanks,
-Kes

Looks like an old time photography,. You might want to take the dark circles from under eyes so she doesn't look like she had been crying. Don. I am posting my corrected version. Don.

I've been on a break from UF myself. After spending all of yesterday and this morning working on this stuff I'm ready for another break!

I'll be back later & check out your latest.

This is my final comment on Usefilm and I couldn't have picked a more amazing image.

Fantastic Kes, truly wonderful sweet portrait. You have done a super job. Great choice of tones and I like the grain.

All the best.
