Hugo,
thank you so much. You are right, that all images should go together. I printed them all on watercolor-texture paper, and i'm going to hang them up, and just take it from there. Now....i wish I had a 44" wide printer.. the wife will not understand. :)
cheers, and thanks again for you help in figuring out what and how to present these images.

Hi Joel, Yeah, there are many options to consider here, all very valid, and not affecting the gloomy atmosphere nor changing the balance in composition too much. A tough nut for sure.
I still believe this photo should be seen in retrospect with the other three, as each one as an individual is less strong than the four of them combined. I think together, they manage to create the strongest feel, maybe even regardless of their consecutive order.
Cheers,
Hugo

Hi Joel.
I love those simple yet detailed abstracts. This looks a bit like Feininger, and you did really well in making this picture BW.
thumps up. also for your whole portfolio.

Terrific composition. If I had been the archictect, this is how I would have wanted my building to be seen. Great work, Joel! Steve

It's a tough one! ...i like it too! life... so many choices.
I like the matte as well. I went round and round with mattes on these images till it was decided to go without.. or does it look better with!? ...ahhh... life again. That's why there's wine.
Thanks for playing with the crop, and posting the image! I love when people take the time to do so!
cheers. -joel

Oh would you have!? ;)
Ya know, I tried that crop. This was a tough nut to crack, and be happy with. I still see things to make it better. As far as the crop against the right side, when I did so, the patch of sky top middle stood out of place. So..had to match the width of that for the right side to give the image balance. What I would do.. (yes, me me me).. trim a wee bit more off the bottom to draw a straight line across those black windows, and not see their bottom edge. Oh well. Shouldn't drink wine upload images on a Sunday night I guess! ;)
thanks Petal! ...always entertaining you are, and always apprecitate your feedback!

Great architectural abstract!! Wonderful lines and tones, good composition... well done!! But maybe I would've cropped that strip of sky on the side and let the building start diagonal out of the corner... well I would've, maybe... ;-D

Thanks on the watch...I am a bit of a watch freak. In retrospect, kinda wish it didn't make it into the picture, know what I mean? But in the end, the watches are part of me, and that's what a self portrait is. ;)

I think this is just perfect the way it is! I Love the contrast's, and i think the negative space actually mirrors the shape of the far buildings! Out of all four it's this one because its different from the norm! :O) Well Done! Regards

Thank you Jeanette!
You are so right, it would look more balanced if that far right building were straight up. I tried it, however, the lines on the left building roofs started to give the illusion that the tops of the buildings were slanting. Wish I could rewind time today, and re-take the image ;)
Thanks for the honest feedback!

Nicely balanced, but here i would like the right part being more straight vertical line. But thats just in my taste... ) Nice in b/w!
