Thanks Fabio, I'm glad you like it. It's a great feeling when people discover something they like that is far back in our portfolios. Thanks again. Andre

Thanks Thilo, I think sometimes I don't know when to leave well enough alone. I went even darker on another Daffodil shot, before coming back to the light side :)
The truth is, I didn't like this one that much at first, and I nearly didn't post it. But now when I go back a couple of days later....I like it! Andre

Hi Marco,
Thank you for giving me such a wonderful description of this image! I might have used that as a title if I had thought of it myself. "Dark Tenderness"!
As far as the decadent poetry is concerned you can thank "The Rolling Stones" for that. The lines in the about and the title of the image comes from a song on the "Sticky Fingers" album from around 1971. The song is also full of sarcasm, wit and "dark tenderness". Andre

Thanks Kathy, I'm just having some fun trying some different things. I'm no expert, that's for sure. You definitely find yourself second guessing a lot doing this kind of thing. But when it comes right down to it, there is no right or wrong. Andre

You are certainly doing some interesting work with this technique, Andre! I like your tones here, and the composition is nice. I tried this on a shot I took last week...I may post it in a day or two. I can't decide if it worked for me or not :( I'll let you be the judge :) Kathy

Thanks Dave, I wasn't that sure about this one at first because of the lack of definition between the top left rose and the busy background. I left it alone for a while and came back to it and decided I liked it after all. Andre

Hi Andrzej, I was talking to someone else here about doing this process and one of the things she noticed was the aura that you get around certain parts of the image. I also find that if I make the blurred layer dark and contrasty, I can get some great shadows in the final image when they are blended together. I think this image might look a little better in the medium format on Usefilm. I know what you mean about the frame too. I should have gone with just plain black instead of using the light bar around it. It seems like the style doesn't go that well with the image. Andre

Andre, I like your new technique very much, it creates well soft appealing expressions - always very pleasing. In this case however I would be concerned with the frame being too busy, I know it's my sin very often as well. Anyway, I like your new soft style. Cheers, n.j
