very ,very beautiful layers work here and very great finish , the nurse added an amazing power to the composition of this beautiful image and the fog for shure made he atmosphere very impresive and so pleasant . This is a great job my fiend . I wish you all of the best my friend.

Thanks very much for your positive comment, Mark! It was a hard decision whether to make the figure more "natural" by colorizing the face to a natural skintone, or leave her grey, as these were B & W pictures, so I cast a bluish light on her similar to that of the fog. I didn't want her to blend in, nor to stand out like a cardboard cutout :) Best regards, Ina

A different and more benign effect than "Fog of Time 2", this is still ghostly and a bit chilly, but with a more neutral mood. The layers are very well integrated, yet enough difference remains between the layered images that the figure does not seem to be quite "at home" in the fog image. It leaves the figure with an other worldly look, there, but not quite there... Expertly done!

Thank you very much Andre, and you are right. In the building where I live there a lot of people over 80, one lady was a nurse stationed in England during the Second World War, and it would be interesting to see what she thinks. I thought of the same thing, to bring them to life in a way, although they are probably long gone by now, if they were in their 20's in 1917-19. Thanks very much for your comment, Best regards, Ina

Hi Ina, Nicely done! I've seen some of your others where you have combined vintage shots of people with a current landscape. This sort of thing works very well when the people are obviously not of this generation. You can create some great mood shots. I find it amusing how that nurse's image was probably only seen by a handful of people in over 80 years before you posted it here. Now people from all over the world can see her in a new setting. She probably would have liked that setting :) Andre

Don't be scared, Rina - she's a nurse - I love these WWI uniforms, I HAD to do something with these images, I love them. Couldn't think of anything better but the fog. I thought they were so special! It's true that in pano, if you go from left to right, she appears a bit suddenly :) But you knew she was there :)

Can't say this enough - clever.
Your fog background is glorious. I forced my eyes to start from left, wander around the perfectly wicked branches, soak in the mysterious and eerie atmosphere (am starting to get a little nervous now), then slowly, ever so slowly move across the scene to the right. And BAM! She's there. She's not supposed to be there, but she's there, and there's nowhere to run and I'm scared... INA!
Not sure if it was your intention to frighten the bejeezes out of me but I LOVE IT!
Cheers Rina
