Yes.. it was after a few emails to Jeanette here on UF, that we all discovered the sRGB sunglasses that rob our images of the photographers intended look. You're so right.. and now that I have a new LCD display, and my color calibration is spot on.. that I must always convert to sRGB for my jpeg images that end up here.
Thanks so much for the comments on this flower! I hear ya on the flora dry up... right now, all we have is pounding northern california rain. The search for color continues.

Perhaps your disappointment in color has to do with the web working in sRGB, and if you are like me using the broader Adobe 1998 color space the reds and blues are less bright. The best I can offer is to pull a conversion before posting.
Even after all that said and done, this is an incredible shot - still browsing for inspiration on stuff to do, right now Kansas light and flora is a little bland.

I like the tones of this blue, like elctric blue flowers.. The idea of putting it upside down, gave a different mystery to the picture. well done!

Thank you for the entertaining comment! I'm glad you like the image! I'll tell ya... I've got NO clue what the flower is! Here in California, I could even guess that it's a weed! Once again, it's a bunch of flowers from the market that just looked interesting. The flower itself is about 2cm wide, and is more green than blue. This image is a center crop, and I knew I wanted something electric blue in my portfolio.. so with a slip of the hue, and a some massive curve layers.. the depth just exploded on this. Got a wee to hot for my taste in the midrange, but beautiful 1:1!

Looking at the thumb I was going to say: Gorgeous blue but I don't have a clue.... LOL!! But now I see it's a Chrysathemum upside down... neat effect and well done!!! Wonderful details and DOF... good job also on the color conversion!!
