About Hard to believe, but this was taken from the garden fence of a house built next door to the pylon. Guess they've never heard of the effect of magnetic fields on the human body... Or were offered a deal so good they couldn't refuse! This was created from a colour negative and emulates Kodak Tri-X used with a red filter (to get the pale blue sky to show up).

Ah yes, I remember this one. I do like powerlines. A strange fascination that doesn't get nearly enough credit in my opinion...

I like your perspective for this shot. I get the feeling you were lying on the grass perhaps. It certainly shows the complex nature of the structure. Great shot.

I love this industrial look. The high contrast is also quite benificial, yet with a very nice tonal range. The red filter was obviously the right choice! hard to believe this is in the front / back yard!

Cheers,

hugo

Happy New Year to you, too, Rina. Not sure I'd like those power lines over my head, though... Thanks for the comment, glad you liked it.

Astounding. A very powerful image (oh god, a pun), but beautiful as it is unnerving.

Happy 2006 to you Roger!
Cheers

Usually those electrical poles interfere with a photograph, but here you have created a beautiful composition, the filter effect is magnificent

FYI Roger, I lived next door to such a delight for 9 years. We could hear the arcing in the evening fogs! Thanks for reminding me why we moved. Curiously, physics tells us that the more wires, the more rapidly the electromagnetic fields decrease as we move away from them. Kinda counter intuitive. I still wanted to move away.
Happy new year fella. Lets shoot lots!

Nice patterns captured here, I'd rather them living there than me! I always wondered how you encouraged the sky in situations like this. Nice shot!
