A beautiful location and a brilliant capture. Looking at your awesome portfolio makes the comment you made on mine so much more meaningful. I'm not sure what TSA refers to in Hugo's comment and would love to know what program he's referring to with layers as well.

Impressive image. Even after wide range of light, you are able to capture them so well. Saturation of sky is enhancing image very well. Good job.

Hi MS, I find this an awesome shot. What a superb roughness in the landscape.
I think you could try a less subtle approach with the masking. As the contrast is rather wide in this shot, with a fairly dark foreground ad a distance cue reducing the contrast in the mountains in the back, I think applying a selective mask is essential to get the most out of this shot.
Per attached a very quick and dirty rework. What I did is copy the entire image onto a new layer, and set the layer mode to "soft light". This blocks out the foreground, so I selected the darkest tones using the colour selection tool, and erased those parts in the top layer. Then, using the same selected area, I copied the lowest layer onto a new one (only the dark tones) and set the layer mode to "screen". This does reduce the details in the foreground, but it also makes the tones brighter. Needed to play a bit with the opacity of the various layers to get the final version, and I should work on the sky a bit more, as that area is a bit too saturated now. Not arguing my lousy rework, i do find this method very useful to quickly achieve a bit more impact in a photo. Wouldn't dream of applying this technique for other purposes than screen display, though, as it's a very coarse method.

Simply Perfect landscape photo. Great composition and nice colors. Good sense of depth in this picture.
I would like some snow on the left mountain, but as a photographer you can't do anything about it. - Ask mother nature next time :)

That first mountain to the left came out awesome, the one on the right a bit flat, but still very beautiful. can feel the cold icy water.
