About These Cashew Nuts grew in South America, they look amazing with these coulours, like huge pears! The big fruit is edible but I just saw birds picking them:) The small fruit, the real cashew has a potent skin irritant toxin also found in the related poison ivy. They will be picked one by one and not opened by hand because of the poison, just roasted until the nut/seed falls out, lots of work to get this all done, just for ONE nut! That's Nuts!! Any volunteers...??;)

My entire family lives there Jen, I am the only one here which at times can be very difficult but I have wonderful friends and my husband is my rock :) I have a little nephew/godchild now (in Brazil) so I have to start going more often. I just lost my mother-in-law last week so it makes you think about how short life truly is so I better get home to see them more often than every few years. You should come to Brazil, you have a place to stay :)
Big hug Jen and thank you for your kind words.
Julie.

Thats just great dear Julie!!! Only a few months and you will be there:))) Is it just your mom living there or more family, all coming together??
Hope you will make some great shots too away from seeing them again after 3 years...wowww!!
I hope to go back for Africa in some weeks for some weeks, miss the good weather and my friends!
Keep faith and if you want to talk, i'll be there for you!! Big hug and kiss, Jenxx

Looks like a great tree, happy my information was right, I learned this in Mozambique, they sell these nuts on the street, amazing how they have to work on this, txs for sharing this with me:)
Enjoy your weekend!! hugs Jenxx

Ah, cashew fruit. They are called Caju in Portuguese.
My mom has a tree in our beach house in Brazil, here's a picture of it. I took that in '05 when I visited last.
I love the red on this shot, this one was ready to be picked up. You're right about the actual cashew, I used to love roasting them. The fruit is actually good but don't let the juice of it hit your clothe, it will stain forever :)
Big hug my dear.
Julie.
