About One of my travels to Greenland I staid in two different hostels and sailed in between them as they donīt have many roads in Greenland. Sailing is very special due to the ice and wildlife, so I would recommend this anytime.

THanks MIchele:-) Yes, Anna Sophie has to go with me up there and experience natureīs beauty in this way. It would be awesome if we could arrange a UF-meeting in Greenland some time:-) Hiking together with tents and cameras?
Take care

Impossible man*LOL* I think that Iīll just hold on to my beloved shed and then try to make the photo a bit clearer as suggested:-)Best thing would be to go up there again for more photos!

C'mon, Annemette. I liked the picture initially.

Now, it looks better balanced for sure IMO.

*LOL* You donīt give up easily:-) Is this better? Hmm I donīt know. I guess all three works well in each their way. I like the complimentary colours red and blue, but I miss my shed a little bit...:-))

Konstantin Yudintsev   {K:3253} 2/17/2007
Certainly it does. However, personally ,I'd skip the shed though :) I wish I could puff the shed off the right side of the image. That way a higher level of concinnity would've been achieved. Aperfect harmony of Red Old Boat against downbeat icy cold blue. Hmmm...

It makes perfect sense, you have the significant advantage of having been there. Don't get me wrong, I like it the original as well. :) :).

All the best,
Joe

I see what you and Konstantin are thinking and I also like it this way. Nevertheless I was taken by this small shed, the small boat, nothing fancy modern in front of this spectaculary scenery, both as a contrast but also to show that here man hasnīt taken over power of nature. Here heīs still the small one regarding his tools. I hope this makes sense as this is the feeling I had when being there, but itīs not always easy bringing it further.
Take care:-)

Yes I could do that. The thing is that Iīve taken many photos of various icebergs, but when I took this I liked the contrast between the shed and small red boat in combination with natureīs splendour. Does that make any sense?:-)

Very nice shot of a special landscape. The ice is very impressive. The composition of your image is very nice, the items on the shoreline anchor the shot and give perspective. Well done.

On the other hand Konstantin has a point. You could have made a stunning image of only the ice, water, hills and sky showing the isolation and unique features of the location. What do you think of this. Hope you don't mind.

All the best,
Joe

Exactly. Why not for a different picture?

Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen Annemette Rosenborg Eriksen   {K:55244} 2/17/2007
Yes, itīs a bit too soft. I just scanned it and it didnīt turn out so sharp as I though:-(
What is an iceberg vista suggestion? Do you mean cropping out the civilization from the photo?

  0

Konstantin Yudintsev   {K:3253} 2/17/2007
Annemette,

The picture appears a little soft. Also, how about an iceberg vista suggestion, minus the structures? To me it looks promising.

Cheers,
konstantin
