  Q. High in the Arctic .. .. Eskimo

Asked by David Eves    (K=226) on 6/1/2007
Point Hope Alaska is home to 750 Inupiaq Eskimos of the North Slope 200 miles above the Arctic circle in the Oldest continually inhabited settlement or village in all of North America. Life can be traced back here some 2.600 years or longer to this one spot of land.

We live on the ocean ice for two months at temps of 50 below zero or colder. We sleep outside for two months with no tents just to gather food.
