Q. Shooting a meteor shower/star trails

There's a big meteor shower this Saturday before dawn and I'd like to photograph it. I've never tried anything like this before and was just hoping someone could give me some tips. Any tips on how to capture star trails at night would be appreciated too. Thanks!
