  Q. Digital Darkroom Bible?

Asked by Chris Moore    (K=5591) on 5/13/2003
Hi all,

Does anyone have any recommendations for a book (or website) that can take someone from the absolute basics of the digital darkroom work up to a high level? A "bible" of such things? I'm likely to be using photoshop or elements if that is significant.

Anything from a comprehensive set of online tutorials through to a 1000 page tome would be of interest.

Cheers
Chris

Chris,

A good one to start with is "Photoshop 7 for the Photographer"

I recomend "Photoshop 7 Artistry" by Haynes and Crumpler. Good information chapters and solid step-by-step exercises. Lots of info on curves which are pretty important but not available in Elements. Geared to photographers. Some basic knowlege of Photoshop is helpful but not necessary. CD with worthwhile info and tools is included.

It's not a book or a website, but I can't say enough for the Total Training Photoshop 7 DVD's. I've learned more from them than a shelf full of PS books. On books, I'm with Chris L, Photoshop for Photgraphers is a great reference. You may also want to try "The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers" by Scott Kelby.

Here are some of my favorite websites too:
