Not sure what to think in reality. Which is why I kept my big nose out of it.
See, I have this photography book called "The Complete Photography Course" by Michael Joseph and Dave Saunders. From 1993. It's old-ish but does include some tips for digi cams as well. Anyway, there's a whole chapter on candids, children in particular, and the images included as examples of "happy snaps" depict children in varying degrees of nudity... as well as "bum shots".
To me, as a noob, I read these books and try to learn as much as I can, and I take these examples as being photography norms. So I'm not particularly shocked to come across similar pics on the web....
I'd have to understand what Lucas L's intention was though, before I could pass judgement. And since he hasn't joined the discussion, I'll never know for sure.

It wasn't Jeroen, it was me. I'm not "cowarding" (the proper verb is cowering, by the way) behind my keyboard, I simply don't have as much time to spend on here as I'd like. I popped in last night and saw your unnecessary blatant expletive describing usefilm members, and removed it, simple as that. I'm curious...if you think this site is so ridiculous, and you think the majority of members are ******s, and you can't stand the moderators...why do you stay? I personally would be more than happy to boot you off the site, but it's not my call. I only have the power to remove childish insulting comments. And if this comment provokes people to start ranting and flaming, I probably won't be responding for a while, I have a life.

As Do I, That doesn’t mean I cant come here once and awhile and blow off steam, Trust me I have good reason! The reason I’m still here is I do have friends here, Well some but a few as oppose to a couple of years ago before the big meltdown.
And I’m sure you personally would not mind booting me off the site that is the problem! Relations between the admin and the members, I think all members at one time or another (If they have been here long enough) get frustrated with issues they cant control.
I can remember a time when I used to join UF chat room to voice my problems, with either you, Hugo, Jeroen, Steve etc..
I also remember speaking to you about your problems, even things such as your septic tank.
Now if you wish to have Al or as Jerone says, don’t let the door hit me on the acs on the way out, Do what you have to do.
Unlike others that I have seen here, and do feel bad for, I will not be pushed around by a photo posting sites admin because they think there better then the users who pay the money that keeps this site running.
If jeroen would have emailed me as I suggested, or Al would have returned one of the emails I sent him, I could have voiced my issues with the Admin in private.
Its very strange but whenever admin has a problem with a member or his or her post, First, member gets a spelling lesson, then Its why don’t you get a life? I would ask the admin the same question.
You are on UF far more then I, Al doesn’t pay you, quoting another mod "he treats us like slaves”, so I should get a life? OK.
Well Chelsea, though I have only chatting with you for short periods of times, and not many times, I don’t have a problem with you, Al, Phil C, even Jeroen though he does have the occasional blow up, I think the core long time UF admin are doing and have always done a good job! My problem Is with a couple of mods put in place that I have worked with online side by side awarding for hours on end in the past, only to have them do things that I wont mention here, But I’m sure If Al, Phil or those with the power to kick someone off this site knew, they would not only have had there awarding privileges taken away but probably sent out the door also. Now to this day I still will not voice publicly the name or names or the actions in which brought me to a boil last night, but like I said all could have been taken care of with a simple email....
Anyway, There will be no ranting or flaming by anyone, and I ask here publicly for anyone who reads this or Chelsea’s post NOT to comment, For one It wont do you any good, and two though I have a problem with a couple of the mods, You do not.
Now if the admin does decide to show me the door, please have the courtesy to let me know a day in advance so I can download my P/F as some of the older photos I do not have on my local drive...

Wow now that is really crazy! well you are right as far as posting your email, I a few months back gave you my email in the chat room to give to Al, But I guess It was a bit backwards for me to think you would still have it.

If the reason is that I mentioned It was probably you who deleted my post, well that was not Hostility but me thinking you were doing your job, as another member mentioned who caught the post, it was out of line and should have been deleted, and I wouldn't have blamed you, and I don't blame Chelsea..
As I mentioned to Chelsea, you and the core group who I have chatted with at times are assets to UF, but when a mod is put in place that does idiotic things, It does reflect on the site admin as a whole, and It is not fair that a bad egg or two can make the hard working admin of UF look bad.
If anything I try to explain to unhappy members that there are many people behind the scenes here and they should not think poorly of all do to the fact that one or two mods have run amuck..
I have no animosity towards you, nor do I have hostile feeling towards you in any way, but you must admit as I did quote you, you have blown up on a couple of occasions which is to be expected as we are all human, But then maybe I shouldn't be quoting you as I guess I would not like to be quoted for something I said while being a bit irritated..

I would disagree and say that the women who objected would be no different than those who objected to Cho snapping their own images. They thought it was creepy. I suggested, according to Piscopo's article, that privacy rights are retained regardless. You pointed out that you have a threshold when it comes to photos of children naked, or mostly, where the purpose appears purient. But that was one of the reason the women objected to this guy's photos, as well. Some of the girls might have been underage. You removed images of paper currency, as you noted in another thread. And you likely did that because you feared it might be against the law to post such images.
To Marcus, I'd say, I very much appreciate the quality of your bird photos. It shows how such ought to be done. And I think you inspire people to try to achieve that standard. I hope you stick around, and continue in that way.

Joe, my first reaction was to point out that this string was specifically listed as for Gayle, Rina, Marcus and Doyle only. But I'm just teasing . . . these are four names that have hijacked more threads than a 19th Century seamstress!! LoL!
Besides - since all can read I appreciate you pointing out how it looks because appearance IS important. The reason it was for the four of us . . . Though Marcus did invite Jeroen and Chelsea . . . was largely because we were referring to some things not to be found here and too lengthy to explain.
You have misunderstood my post. I was asked what I thought and I wrote what I thought. You disagree? Seriously, you really don't mean to imply that YOU know what I thought more than I know what I thought do you? I suspect you're trying to tell me that you disagree with what I thought. Anyway, enough semantic gameplay.
Here's what I meant (and be aware our conversation continued in another forum outside UF) . . .
I was the one who over-reacted. What you may not have realized was this thread was (in my opinion) a conversation I thought was about me (NOT the thread we were discussing - THAT was about Lucas). In THAT thread, I apologized NOT once but TWICE and admitted my defensive glasses glazed over. The people I apologized to were most kind - BUT I did NOT feel I over-reacted when it came to my comments about the children.
Joe - I straight up admitted this was creepy stuff and, frankly, they HAVE EVERY RIGHT to complain and to suggest and to persuade . . . whatever. In the end, I was told basically that all that was being asked was a word to the ear of the photog by the staff. That's hardly an over-reaction!
Jeroen removed the currency photos . . . NOT me. I am NOT on staff . . . I have less power than you think around this place! Currency, however . . . is ILLEGAL . . . Lucas' shots haven't been found to be illegal.
Thanks for clearing up what may have looked like a misunderstanding . . . I certainly NEVER meant to suggest these girls, whom I very much respect, had over-reacted . . . only that I had. :) I was speaking to these three only and they (I think) understood. I can see now that it may not have been as clear to any others who might have read that.

whoa! talk about an oldie...hehehe...sup?,Meg,Cookie,Birdman and Chelsea....the rain is back and a tad nippy with snow expected in my area...my son bought his gal a Puggle for Christmas!...it is only 8wks old and they had to drive to eastern WA to pick him up early from the breeder...Puggles are hybrids with beagle mom + pug dad...don't even ask about the price!
