  Q. Under water shooting

Asked by sherif hussein    (K=13815) on 4/18/2005
I am amateur photographer still rather new .Nextweek I shall go diving and it will be the first time to shoot under water and wonder whether any body can till me whether there are certain rules that should be taken into consideration and whether there are any site where I can find such instructions .
Thanks and regards
Sherif

it would help to know what kind of camera you will be using...

remember the rule of thirds, try to visualise the photo in your mind before shooting, shoot many of the same subject with differing lighting, and above all else watch buoyancy, air depth and time...good luck

I have a Minolta dimage 500 and friend told me that it can be be used for this purpose after using a certain covr to protect it from the water

I agree with the others. Remember rule of thirds, and fill the framer with your subject. When you think you are close enough, get closer. Bracket the best you can. Never shoot a butt, folks like to see teeth and eyes. Shoot lots of shots, bracket, shoot lots of shots.

I've heard the loss of the red spectrum as you go deeper encourages some to use a mild red filter to counteract this but im yet to get serious enough to try this out.
