That looks like the Carnival Pride to me.

Great shot, congrats on your award.

By the way, I know it's the Pride because the only other cruise ship that uses the Port of Long Beach is the Paradise, and there isn't than many rooms with balconies.

Sorry Toni,
Thilo's photo is called "People In Boxes" on the second page of his portfolio.
It almost could be a zoomed in version of this one.

Hi Toni,
Nice shot of the cruise ship. On my monitor this one seems to stand out for me a little better. Some people might say the white areas are a little bright. Have you seen one of Thilo Bayer's photos called "little boxes"? (the title might not be exactly right) His image has a similar flavour to it.

Oops - my comment on your B&W version said I didn't remember the original: that would suggest a pretty short memory on my part... Even better in B&W.

Thanks for the suggestion Manu. I liked this toning when it appeared accidentally. I'd changed the hues in a layer adjustment and when I went to convert to BW in channel mixer, the hue/saturation layer was active above it. It was a rather spontaneous decision to retain it. I went to work based on your suggestion and converted to BW. I like the way it came out...thanks for the suggestion. It's been re-uploaded. Antonia

Nice piece of repetition and shapes...well done. Not too sure about the tones though...they don't seem to contribute to the overall image...I think I would have liked it to have been staright forward BW showing excellent clarity, contrast and focus....there you go, Antonia...constructive critisism I hope.

Cheers

Manu
