Wow! A classy silhouette. Great shot, well observed and nicely taken. Each shadow speaks for itself and plays a balanced role in the wonderful visual story here. It's interesting to note here how the various characters are placed within the frame making it very dynamic and interesting to look at and this also tends to hold your attention for long.
Congrats regards Pankaj Arora

Hi Sally. Okay, I admit - I cheated with this one. I took it using raw, and then reduced the exposure in PS, and increased the contrast, and straightened it. It was a bit of a snapshot, and I didn't set the exposure as a silhouette properly in-camera. The right way to do it is to lock the exposure on the sky, use ISO100/ISO200, recompose, and take the photo. Best to practice a bit on trees and buildings. Your D70 should make this type of shot easy if you use spot metering and one of the creative modes (apperture priority). I have inclused the origonal unprocessed - just for fun... Bryan

I think this is a very nicely done silhouette - with very little noise showing - whenever I try this, all I get is a mass of noise - how do you do it? I would like to see a little more detail in the foreground.

Bryan I love you added this wonderful picture story. The light reflected off the rocks in the foreground balances it beautifully. I find myself examining each silhouettes trying to "read the story" Beautiful capture.
