About i mounted the suction cup on the front bumper and screwed on it the center column of the culmann tripod so as the camera be further away from the pug... it didnt seem stable or safe at all and i used a lot of tape to secure it more... less than two minutes after i started moving the whole set collapsed and the poor camera almost touched the tarmac - saved by the tape... :-P

thank you :-)))

Pico :
i don't understand your comments... what is that 'Bradley GT badge' you mention?
and why do you doubt it's a film shot? the camera and film are documented under the picture ;-)

Did you really USE FILM for this, or just set your digital camera and go? I say it's digital therefore has no place here.

Document please what film camera you used.

What you went through to get this is a hoot! It is an electric capture, and inventive. Congrats on the award. T.

What in the world is a Bradley GT badge doing on that car? Do you know what the GT (or GTII)is?

"Kostas" I mean, sorry.

Costas, Maybe you have invented a new way of taking photos with the affect it had on this shot. Now just need to invent the unbreakable camera. Yours seems pretty strong tho. LOL Great shot. Just as long it's the camera and not you falling. Regards, Marilyn

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Kostas:

I lost my camera on the final frame to sub-freezing wind and a good gust of wind. The camera went into the windshield of the car in back of me and then into the curb. My cheap assembly of cardboard was run over many times and crushed to death...

It took me a few minutes to pull back around, park, and find the camera, so there was a resulting double exposure, and some headlight burn from flying into the car. I had the camera mounted like you high on the roof looking backwards.

Kostas, I'm amazed that that camera is still functional after all it's been through. I love the angle of this photo, I like to see more, but maybe you should figure out a safer way to mount it. Hooray for duct tape! ;)

You may have also taken automotive design to the next stage with this one. :)

todd,my excuses to go digital -or go anywhere in general- are controlled by my bank, unfortunately, and not by the health of my nikon... :-P

btw,i made another attempt to kill her (the F90X) last august, when i mounted the CulSucCup on the opened rear door of the pug so as to get a high point of view... i probably hadnt secured the sucup adequately (female interference around..) and after a couple of turns around a lighted gas station the camera freefell on the ground from a height of almost 2 meters, and was dragged behind the pug (nikon cable releases are strong!)... it refused to work for the next 2 days but in the end everything came back to normal... the sigma fisheye that suffered the same shock got off with some scratches on its hood ;-)
wanna see that violently halted photo?

lol meg... i also found it funny after i processed the film and saw my head 'peeping over the wheel' :-P like this... i tried cloning it out and the result was ok,but then i decided to leave it there, hoping that some nice person would offer to send me those phone books i desperately need... frankly,an e-mail would be more helpful and effective for similar shots in the future, but phone books are ok - and much cheaper :-P :-)))
