Hi Gayle, no of course i haven't forgotten you :)
Sorry if it's been a while since i commented. I just can't keep up, you only need to be away for a couple of days and then you are really behind :(
OK, to this photo... first of all let me say i like the vertical format, this would look great horizontal if there was an empty space to the right, which there probably wasn't :) The DOF is spot on with the chair being the centre of attention. Not sure about the blue, but oknow how much you like it. So top marks for an interesting image.
Best wishes, Neil

I think the twilight purple-ish colors add to the feeling of lonliness.0 There's nothing so poignant as an empty chair. You used that symbol well here.

Dear Gayle,

I like the upright format here, fits well with the title and the mood. the blueish tone is somehow cold, and this also makes sense by focusing on the loneliness. the vignetting, especially at hthe bottom, is a bit hard. did you work on that explicitely?

Well done. Thilo

Great composition, but you know me.. I like the black and white lol.. It must be from another life in my distant past. I have this desire to shoot everything in BW. I have a bench ( a bus stop) that I've watched for months. One of these days it will look just right and I'll shoot it lol

WHat is beautiful about this is the crisp clarity and colour of the bench and concrete yet the grass is so soft and lush. Makes for perfect contrast.
