About 10 am. The scene at one of the local parks near downtown Ontario where the Route 66 Reunion Festival had taken place just a few weeks ago. Three homeless guys. The guy with his back to me is reading the newspaper with his dog next to him. You can see the second homeless guy still sleeping with his dog by his side. You can only see part of the third guy. He is laying down covered with a blue blanket behind the tree closest to the brick wall.

A very sad story, wondering how they ended up like this.

Thank you Marian. It is so tragic to see so many of them. All ages and walks of life.

Thank you Jill. What I have found out is that some people are homeless because of circumstances beyond their control, and others because of poor decisions in life. In either case it's a sad sight to see.

Thanks for the comment Gene. I thought about posting it in black and white but didn't think it would work for this shot. I will be posting other journalistic shots that I think will be better suited for B&W.

Yes signs of the times Paul. Some are homeless because of the economy, some because of mental or physical impairment, some because of drug addiction or a criminal past and some because they are just too lazy.

Not sure how long there have been homeless people at this particular park Paul. I noticed them there the last few times I drove by the park on my way home from my dads apartment. Some homeless people have pets for companionship and also to keep other homeless people from harming them or stealing what little they have.

Reasonably well dressed, reading the paper, pets; obviously a sign of economic conditions, not mental impairment. There but for the grace of god, goes I.

Amazing site and with the house in the background.
Wonder how they can look out the window and see this!
I find it kinda funny that the homeless people have pets!
Nice Journalistic capture clay.

That is a very interesting contrast. I believe it was a woman getting into car. She was dressed like she was going to school or work. What I also thought was interesting is that the 3 homeless guys formed a triangle.
