About WELL!!! No wonder the 'baby' had a hard time coming out....there were four of the little blighters in there!!!
And all girls too!
Sheila was delighted, but Arnold, oh poor Arnold longed for a son. Someone to hand the business onto, someone to teach the ways of the world to, someone to whinge about woman to (when he was old enough of course)....but no. Four girls. Sheila insisted on Arnold picking the names, knowing how badly he wanted a son, it was the least she could offer.
So Arnold named his daughters. Kylie was the first one delivered, next was Christina, then Brittney and little Charlene was the youngest.
Sheila thought the names common, but did not want to offend Arnold, as he was already so disappointed by the absence of a boy-child.
What should have been the happiest day of the lives turned out to be somewhat marred by the outcome....four babies...and all girls. It was quite a lot to take in, and in her doped up state, Sheila drifted off once more to sleep, a feeding infant at each breast, and two more dozing in the cots next to the bed.
Arnold sobbed quietly in the corner for a couple of minutes, then slipped quietly from the room to call back at The Widow Kneesup, to finish what he had started earlier that morning. Her stove certainly may need a new part ordered, he must check straight away, to guarantee that she got good service....

OMG!!! Can't believe I just got around to finishing this delightful series . . . Hilarious . . . well . . . more like Hysterical!! Turns out Arnold owes ME a cigar!!

Poor widow kneesup! You gotta feel for her . . . first the plumber for that nagging drip-drip-drip . . . then the electrician for the flickering light . . . . now Arnold for the stove . . . She just Can't get a break!

Inspired work Beks!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Thanks Bek, I had the plaster off my foot last week but won't be able to go back to work until the end of March(poor me :)),so I've quite a way to go yet.

A question... did you keep Sheila and Arnold on your hands for the entire duration of this epic saga? Did they visit the supermarket? The petrol station? The sanitorium? :)

Whoah...Patrick is really scaring me...transforming into Arnold...or is that Sheila!? Anyway, more good laughs! Thanks guys.:)

Actually I'm getting used to it... some might say it's an improvement. So all legal action is henceforth dropped.

Sorry Patrick, but your lawyers will only meet with brick walls!! :^)

Rebecca, you may be familiar with the book 'Metamorphosis' by Franz Kafka, in which a bloke wakes up to find he's transformed into a giant insect. Well imagine my surprise when I looked in the mirror first thing this morning to find.... THIS! I blame YOU unreservedly! It's all your fault! My lawyers are on the case as we speak... you'll be hearing from me.

Ah Liz, and so it ends (for now anyway).....

You are too kind and thanks so much for your words of encouragement along the way, and especially for this one. It is nice to know that my off-beat ideas make some people laugh and give them something else to think about apart from work, bills, illness and reality in general.
I always think people need more giggles in their life and this series certainly made me chuckle if nothing else.
Back to the serious stuff now I suppose, and time to get down to some hard-core critiqueing of other peoples work. This has been fun but very time consuming and I fear I have missed a lot of great stuff.
Big hugs to you for your hilarious comments, you're a gem.
cheers, Bek xxx

I think we broke poor Patrick's brain, his life will never be the same again, his dreams peppered with images of what could have been for him and Sheila. He will go places and see her face everywhere, buying cigarettes will bring the memories flooding back again and again, forcing him to become bedridden and valium-riddled to cope. Start cooking those turkey pot pies and the chicken soup, it will take a lot to get him back to his old self (and don't dare walk into the room with white boots, that will set us back to the beginning), shooting abstract pics again.

As for the blogging, I am a complete techno-bimbo and wouldn't have a clue how to go about doing something like that...also a bit scared that the nuts here are of a particular breed, and the 'outside world' just wouldn't understand Sheila, Arnold or ME!!! LOL
Thanks for your great comments Sandra, you are a trooper and we love you xxx B

OHHHHH, see I knew he was no good..

Three Cheers to you Bek, for making UF the most fun place to be, in a long time....it's great when things like this come along. It lightens up the mood, and helps clear the mind...You are just exceptional :) :)
A fantastic series....

Thanks a million Rebecca for the ton of laughs Iíve had.
You really lifted my spirits, Iíve been stuck in the house since Christmas with a plaster cast on my foot so this is the best time Iíve had all yearÖ Enjoy your rest but do let me know when you start the sequel. :-))

PS... I agree with Patrick that you should make this into a book.

Hey Barn, a naked hand can be very alluring...apparently. That is my fave too, because of the saggy butt! LOL
Thanks a bunch for following up with Sheila, we both appreciate your time and patience (I love your wit, it's a killer!), any-hoo, back to the serious stuff again...ho-hum.
Big hugs back and hope you're feeling better each day,

Rolling on the floor with the rest of the nuts here...and we thought "the farm" was out there...too funny Bek! I have to say "What to wear" is my favorite...saggy butt and all. Even a naked hand gets a ton of views...go figure!

Great series GG...enjoy your well deserved break. :)

Hugs...Robin

It was a pleasure Patrick, and don't dwell too much, we will see them again....it won't be today, or even tomorrow, but yes they will be back... I need to do some serious shots now....if only I had something to take them of! LOL

Ah well, another day... B

Sob! Weep! Sniffle! Cry! Bawl! Oh... I knew this day would come, but I didn't think it would be so soon... if this really is the end for Sheila, Arnold and their badly-named brood (I have a feeling they'll be back...) then I just want to say thanks for the biggest laugh I've had in years. That is unfortunately true... this has given me real belly laughs, something I never thought would happen to me again. Thanks, Rebecca, you're a gem.

P.S. ....regarding the book thingy, I think about four copies would sell, you would have one (naturally, could be handy on those lonely nights), Shirley would buy one, one for my Mum....and that leaves one for ME!

Patrick you are too much!!!! I have now slid under my desk onto the floor and am laughing so hard I fear I will leave a puddle!!!!
I haven't laughed this much since I was in the funny farm and they mixed up my dosages...LOL!
Alas, this is the end for Sheila and her story, although we may check back in a little while to see how she is coping with her errant hubby and brood of mini-me's.
Thankyou so, so much for your creative input along the way, you have been a marvelous companion to journey with down this winding road of love. Please take your kudos for providing the rest of the Sheila fans with a giggle or two, we couldn't have done it without you...well, we could have, but it would not have been half as crazy!!! :^)
cheers and cheap beers to you, Bek xxxxx

As long as you're nowhere near the widow, you can be on top as much as you like!!
I am certainly worried for Sheila and her girls....

I just noticed that Onie trumped by "bun in the oven". I need to better stay on top of things.

OMG - Arnold is preparing to fix the stove so he can put more buns in the oven. The cad... but I had suspected all along. Hope Sheila took her Lamaze training seriously. There may be lonely times ahead for her but she will have her little brood to keep her company while Arnold goes about setting appliance right.

I've decided, Rebecca, that this series is so stunning, so funny, that you really should consider trying to get it published. I work in an art and photography bookshop (when I'm not asleep or taking photographs) and I'd stock it for sure!

Good grief... I go to sleep for an hour or two and wake up to find... THIS! No wonder she was in pain, the poor thing... I think Shirley might have a point with the 'common name' thought, though... next time she can call them Sharon and Tracy and be dead classy. Well, what can I say? They all look... very pink and very... nice. My psychic powers are working overtime at the moment (I could give Madame Zelda a run for her money, which is kind of the opposite of what SHE does, which is take the money and run) so I will tell you what I think life has in store for the sweet little angels... KYLIE will grow up to be an actress in a truly awful but very popular daytime soap, then get into music. She has a tough time for a few tears but then shows off her amazing arse in a video and everyone loves her forevermore. CHRISTINA has it harder. She becomes president of a meat processing factory in Staines, England. She marries a gentleman farmer called Wilberforce who steals all her money before setting the dogs on her. She survives, but with her confidence bruised. Now... little BRITTNEY. She, like Kylie, has dreams of a career in music, but instead marries a sweaty man called Gregg and lives in a trailer park. And last but not least, CHARLENE. Charlene becomes Prime Minister of Australia and marries Shane Warne Jnr, son of the famously lard-arsed, balding cricketing legend. We will have to wait a while to see if my premonitions come true, but won't it be exciting?!

Oh no!!! I had clean forgotten about that. I have heard that the widow was quite good on the organ.....(pffffftkekekeke) and she would be the only one the priest would trust to play at such an important christening, being quads and all.
Sheila's sister Agnes is a bit of a brawler, so maybe if she sticks to only one or two drinks beforehand, she will be able to help Sheila out, if it comes to that.
Maybe we should all get together and position ourselves strategically in the pews to look out for trouble. Can I count you in for that Meg?

  0

Meg Metcalfe Meg Metcalfe   {K:6114} 2/7/2007
Oh dear! I foresee trouble!!!! If Arnold takes up with the widow Kneesup, think of the christeningÖ..the widow Kneesup is the organist at the church.
While all are wiping the tears with their clean hankies Arnold will be having dirty thoughts of the widow, I hope someone is handy to restrain Sheila!

rebecca claassen rebecca claassen   {K:12904} 2/7/2007
The way Arnold shoots Onie, just that one bullet, he BETTER be careful...could end up with a bakers dozen!!!
You can't see it in this picture, but the midwife actually wrote on each bub's tummy with a pen (imagine writing on your skin with a pen, YUK!) to make I.D. ing them easier.

Hmmm, am a bit worried for Sheila, four babies, and quite possibly and absent, at the pub Pappa...very disconcerting.

Leonie Fitzpatrick Leonie Fitzpatrick   {K:40551} 2/7/2007
UH OH!!! Quads!!! Must have put the wind up Dad... Arnold thumbed a ride outta' there a bit quick to the Kneesup abode... Well, it's easy to see... Idle hands lookin' to do the Devils work... ~~GRIN~~

... and I must say, the babies are real cuties... Can see Kylie's been fed, Sheila musn't have burped her properly, bit of a reflux thingy happenin'... Always found a gentle knuckle in the back helped there...

Just a small thing, like the fact the *individual* has been recognised... Whether it was Sheila or the maternity ward staff, they nailed it with those different coloured dummies... make it easier to tell them apart... No sucking on the fist and causing teeth problems down the track...

Well. hope for Sheila and Arnolds sake, those babies sleep as peacefully as they are now when they get home...

(wonder if Arnold is thinking of the consequences with Mrs Kneesup, surely not another bun in the oven... )

I do hope I have more class than Kneesup. Glad to know your fingers are not suffering too much.

Well, I sleep some, I just slept for two hours and here I am again.;) I'll tell you more in my story...later. Thanks!

Ah Dear Shirley, I am sure you have far more class than the Widow Kneesup, answering her door in a negligee, no morals I am sure!!!
The pacifiers are small eyelets, I am a bit of a scrapbooker in my non-existent spare time, and wracked my brain to think of what to use...a little bit of glue..er..milk to hold them in place and that was that.
I will email you soon as I catch my breath from this saga.....also, a question...do you sleep?!!!
LOL
cheers, Bek

The Widow 'Kneesup'? Oh my goodness, Bek!!! I am a brunette widow. Fortunately, my stove is working just fine. What did you use for pacifiers...at first I thought they were pushpins and went 'OUCH!'
