Now here's an image I had to study for a few seconds until the Escher effect kicked in. Once done, the image is excellent. It is good in life to cross paths with fellow photographers who do appreciate the same things. You have a fine portfolio! Keep up the wonderful work!

Hugo,
Thank you so much for the wonderful review of this image! I'm so glad that you like it! It was a wild effort to get all the lines straight, and I guess that's where being a freak about detail comes in!
I makes me happy that you were able to climb into the image, and enjoy the puzzle that held your eyes captive.
I appreciate your comments very much, and am honored that you took the time to write about what made you enjoy the image.
cheers, -Joel

Hi Joel, Interesting to see how much the appearance and feel of the colour version differs from the black and white series;
the neat alignment of the verticals is excellent, and essential in such an image to make it work. The diagonal line of the bricks not only break the static, rigid structure, but also adds the element of surprise / the deception of the eye / the Escher effect.
The eye unconsciously searches for a fixed patter, wanting the vertical lines in the lower part to continue / align with the verticals in the upper part, the fact that this isn't the case is a good thing, as far as I'm Very nice work, there's so much more to this shot as initially meets the eye! Great stuff!
Cheers,
Hugo

What can I say Joel: it takes one to know one... ROTFL!!! I'm sure that I'll like Australia... already been there a few years ago, also for a month but 'did' the Red Center and the East Coast then, now I'm going for the West Coast so to all of you out there.... beware... ;-DDDDDDD

Oh dear Petal.... I was snip'n away at this for an hour!!! Any more snip'n, the lines start to go wacky. But then again, you're wacky. ;)
thank you so much for the comments!!
Well...you'll love it NYC for sure! ....Australia is going to blow your mind. I was there for a year, and every day was amazing.
...neck of the woods. you're funny.

Nice architectural abstract!! Wonderful colors/tones (I do like blue... ;-D), great lines/patterns and reflections, good composition... well spotted shot!! Me personally, as a confessed cropaholic, would've snipped away at it and removed the side... probably... ;-DDDD Oh and about going to NY and not to SF... I'm only going for 6 days but in October a trip to Australia (a month) is booked, so too little time and money this time... but don't worry (or better DO) I will be visiting your 'neck of the woods' one day soon... LOL!!!
