What a fabulous subject for this technique. It looks like some sort of sea creature - I must give it a try!

Congrats on the award for this one.

Incidentally, thanks for the detailed explanation. I use a similar technique but put Rain-X on the glass to get higher beads of water. But the droplets already look very well formed here.

really really thank u all, for your comments, my friends!
I'm very glad for this SC;it's a spur for my creativity, very encouraging!

For roby: thank u!, but no flilters at all:)... just droplets!

For Paul not so difficult, until u know how to do it..eheh
i mean: i've seen many shots similar to this, but never found an howto... so, i've made lot of experiments, and then i've found the recipe:

ingredients:
-almost dark room
-a sufficiently deep (40 cm tall circa) cardboard box with open top
-a small object such a Slynky, for example;)
-a remote flash or a Maglite
-a clear glass sheet
-droplets!
well:
put the object on the bottom of the box
then put the flash too on the bottom of the box (better in a corner, pointed toward the object)
--if u don't have a remote controlled flash, u could use a flashlight such a Maglite or similar... just cut away a portion of the box on the side, to enlight the object...---

::important::
the light must came from under the glass sheet::

then put the glass sheet on the top of the box
and cover it with droplets...
focus in manual onto the droplet's surface (while focusing, u can switch your ambient light ON)
then, once in focus, switch off the light
shot!
make different shots with different apertures, but an f/22 or higher, will be enough tho have a sufficient blur on the object and more droplets on focus...
enjoy!
this is MY way... i don't know if it's The right way, but it work fine...
( although i'm italian, and i write in a poor english, almost I tried to explain, because i think that to share our little knowledge with the other members, it's a great thing....)
hope to be helpful for someone
let me know:)
Ciao
Davide
