Congratulations on the SC award. I love everything about this image, the tone, the lighting, and the model.
The only thing I can add is that I might have wanted her a little off center so she wasn't dead in the middle, but that's not even that important.

i agree with bryan. perhaps a white reflector in front of, and below the subject would bounce just enough light onto the face. simply dodging the face and burning in the sides would correct this in the darkroom. excellent portrait though. well deserved for staff choice...congrads!

andreas, I notice in this series of portraits the sides are brighter (#2 is bright). are you sure this is from light or is this from the developer when the film is in the tank -- maybe it is both? you remember when I first start developing my negatives and the sides were always brighter?? both sides of my film always have a little more density. Now that I have 1 liter tank, I never see bright sides. the developer have more room to move now and I experience more even development. no more bright sides for bryan :))
this is B E A U T I F U L person! can you bring little more light to the face if you make one more print?

hello stefan,
thank you for your very welcome comment. yes, one side is a little bit brighter. it was outdoor and i have a lot of problems with the ligth. but on the other way, this backround have a "own life" ..you know what i mean ? ;-). and i like this own life :)

Taking the shot as she is preparing herself to be photographed may not be appreciated but it is a fine way to capture a relaxed and maybe contemplative mood. The background seems to brighten on both sides of her - I wonder what happened there.

I love portraits and from the first look at your portfolio I found that theres a lot that could be learned from your fantastic work!
The idea of keeping the same background but changing the people emphasizes the character and uniqueness of each person and so each portrait is special
