About After a couple of speakers on the main podium, the gathered masses where completely stirred up, and frantically shouting anti-American and Israeli slogans. The huge crowd was swaying, waving their banners, flags and caricature puppets of President Bush and Priminister Blair. The fanatical aspects of mass hysteria took over the subdued atmosphere at the start of the demonstration. Please read my comments on the previous two images for more information, and to place this photo into perspective.

Tim.

Great documentary shot. There is so much interesting going on and it's not overdone. A nice balance of interesting subject and colour to keep one viewing for a while. Oh, and thank you for one of the best and most in-depth critiques on my shot.

Another interesting photo "jornalism"..I`d rather see frontal "gathered protesters" than their "backs" in case of possibilty..previuos ones were same but it seems that the main objecr is the "speaker"..if you look to the main attractive is the "banner" which is in "mirror" location..it is intresting series..well done agaian

I like image II and III best, they are very dynamic. (Number I has a less clear composition, in my opinion). A good journalistic series again!

(Thanks for you comment on my colour adjustments - you were very right. I think I found the solution now by adjusting the colour balance of the top and bottom part of the image separately.)

Hello Hugo,
Very interesting photograph, I also viewed your other two and read your information. (as an American, I found them very informative...a LOT of us here are not in agreement with Bush and Blair...) Anyway, back to the photo, it is interesting to see 'history in progress' so to speak. And it also is interesting to see things from anothers' eyes. I wish I could have see more faces rather than the backs of heads. But that's why it is journalism, you can't always pick and choose your camera angel!

Good representation of the day at hand!

Lori :)

ps. thank you for your notes...on another note: Isn't it too bad that all countries and all peoples can't just GET ALONG?? That would simplify things so much! :)

Nice picture
Very good moment

Translation:
1 Yellow Banner :
America, what do you think ?
Iran is full of Pasderan ( Tranlater: fighters for Islam, Guards )
The center of Pasderan is in Mahmud Abad (Translator: City in the north at the Caspian Sea )

2 White Banner :
America is not able to do anything

! Amerika was denkst Du ?
Iran ist voll von Pasderan !
Das Zentrum der Pasderan ist in Mahmud Abad ( Stadt in Nord Iran )

2 Amerika kann nichts ( gegen uns ) tun

Bravo and regards
Jan Symank

From a journalistic point of view this captures the moment - I find it interesting from a "me" perspective how bright the trees behind the banner are - the seem nearly the same color...

A free translation of the banners in this photo: Down with the USA, Iran has many soldiers, ready to withstand any American agression, followed by names of bases in the vincinity of Esfahan. If there's anyone on UseFilm who can translate this more precisely, I'd appreciate it... On the left people are burning the caricature puppet, probably representing President Bush.
